Musically, the major differences between this and the releases on Break and Cooltempo, are that tracks B1 and B3 are much longer versions here

Talk about B B & Q - Genie

Ishnjurus
Straight up classic mid-80s boogie business right here, compared to other LPs of the time a ridiculous amount of heaters (Genie, Main Attraction, On The Shelf, Dreamer, Riccochet), I was aware that all these tracks existed in the boogie universe but was reminded last night when I listened to the album in its entirety that they were all on the same LP. The added touch of Curtis Hairston on vocals makes this an essential part of every funk collection. This was around the time when a lot of 80s boogie bands were switching to more of that street soul sound (SOS Band, Change, etc), which is very evident on Genie. Mellowed out boogie at its best!
